Link cards

A web link left alone in its own paragraph is drawn as a card. The same link inside a sentence stays an ordinary link.

The first becomes a card; the second stays a link.

Nothing is fetched to draw it

The card is made from the address alone — the site’s name and the words you wrote. Tisty asks nobody anything to draw it.

Bring the preview

If you want the site’s title, description and picture, press Bring the preview. Tisty asks that page once and keeps the answer, so it never asks again:

  • It reads the answer up to 256 KiB and the picture up to 400 KiB, and stops there — a page cannot decide how much of your machine it takes.
  • The picture is stored with the card record, not in your documents, so nothing of the web ends up in the folder your machines share.
  • That request is like any visit: the site learns an address to answer to and the time of day. See Privacy.

A link opens your browser only when you click it. If LinkUnbound is installed, web links go through it so it can ask which browser to use.
